I’m a graduate from The Fashion Institute of Technology, where I studied fashion design and fabric styling—grounds for learning human-centered design.
My passion for storytelling, design, and cultivating simplicity led me to a small public relations agency in New York where I found myself wearing many hats, including the fits of copywriter and event planner.
Events reeled me in. I fell in love with the experiences and bringing people together. I soon found myself working in different event spaces like that of PepsiCo DE&I, different retail brands, and art museums. Much of my work during this time included immersive experience design, event coordination, and the fostering of intimate, cross-functional relationships.
I returned to my hometown of Maryland where I landed a remote opportunity in brand marketing and partnerships (for an early childhood development franchise). My success came by means of self-discipline, hyper-organized project management, understanding customer motivations, technical acumen, with a lot of emotional intelligence mixed in.
In a sentiment many can relate to, 2020 had every opportunity to take from me, but instead it gave me space to ask myself these very questions: What can I contribute creatively while also bringing my multi-disciplinary perspective to the table? How can I do something on purpose, for a purpose? Better yet, how can I offer my skill and passion of slick experience by practical insight and critical thinking? User experience designer it is.
Tying a bow on the last eleven years of experience, I strive to bring thoughtful research, an emphasis toward simplicity, and purposeful work to every project I touch.
