About

I’m Sarra—an artist, a communicator, a daughter, and a friend amongst many things.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, on the edge of the east coast and far from anything too busy, I’ve grown up appreciating the finer things in life—relationships, reading between novel lines, rich tastes of food, travels tucked away in the woods, handwritten notes; simple but powerful moments. With an innate desire for quality over quantity every time, I’ve always been drawn to the simple yet bold.

I studied at the University of Florida, graduating in 2015, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences, double minoring in Non-Profit Organizational Leadership, and International Development and Humanitarian Assistance ~whatever that all means... I can basically start my own non-profit that helps people and builds healthy families, therefore healthy people. The twist here is my actual field of work—multidisciplinary creative direction & design

I outwork the brains of both creative and art director while simultaneously operating in my communication and digital design skills. I’m a self-taught website and graphic designer as of 2013, having worked with companies and organizations such as A21, Messenger International, and others on their respective marketing, communications, and creative teams. I’m also the owner and creative director of The Business Bar, a small creative design agency—we’re undergoing a remodel at the moment… check back soon!

Of course I enjoyed studying for my degree during college, but really I’ve always been drawn to the art of it all—how can I make this life-transforming information palatable? How can I use my personal skillset to tie it all together? Whether it be visual art, website or graphic design and communication, written language, lyric, or plain ole’ face-to-face conversation, my hope is to communicate a powerful and meaningful message in a way that the conversation leaves thoughts of curiosity, challenge, and encouragement.

I like to believe I’m pretty good at what I do. I’m quite resourceful, always up for a challenge, and really love people. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
